For Sale
500 Bridge Street
Weissport PA, 18235

Weissport is a small town in Carbon County with a population of just over 200
people. Bridge Street, known as the main road, is three blocks long with a bridge
crossing over the Lehigh River into the city of Lehighton. Once a manufacturing
area, mainly to the garment industry, Carbon County has now become a tourism
area with Jim Thorpe just a few miles away, along with three ski areas, two
lakes, several campgrounds, parks and other various attractions. There has been
a large migration of NEW residents from New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia
for either second homes or retirees. Weissport is centrally located two hours
from New York City, one and a half hours from Philadelphia, twenty minutes from
I-80 or I-78 & just two miles from Exit 74 of the Northeast extension of
the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
The property consists of ten acres of land and the building which measures approximately
fifty-six feet wide in the front and 600 feet long. The first floor, which is
approximately 40,000 square feet, is zoned Industrial & Commercial, with
a store front, several offices, warehouse space and workshops. The second floor,
which is approximately 8,000 square feet, was given a variance to be converted
into five residential apartments. Currently there is one measuring 1,500 square
feet, which my family lives in. If residential tenants are not what you are
looking for, then you could just leave the rest of the area as it is for commercial
rentals. With the open area having no support poles, ten foot ceilings and plenty
of natural light, this space would be perfect for a dance or artistic studio.
There is a basement which runs the length of the entire building, with nothing
more that dirt floors. There is also a third floor or attic, which is approximately
5,000 square feet.
This huge old building has had some changes over the years but has maintained
its character. The warehouse has four loading dock areas to accommodate several
tenants. There is a modified freight elevator to move items up and down easily.
Leave your home in the City, relocate to a quiet, peaceful and safe community
that would cost a fortune in Manhattan.
There is plenty of room to rent out or utilize at a bargain price!
You’re welcome to call 610-377-5100 and ask for Tommy!
